Gold Medals

I really like the VK runs gold medal monsters from time to time. My problem is with the mass amount of damage that 1 or 2 individuals will do on these monsters, ruining the chance for other people to get in on the action.

Slow Speed Kills

I've noticed that a lot of the harder monsters (level 300+) posted on DoR mega URL are usually dominated by a couple of people. Don't get me wrong, those people are appreciated and without them, many of the battles would fail. The problem is that some of the lower stamina people have trouble doing enough damage in the time allotted to get anything good. I propose (based on the FB speed kill group), the following:

- Monster name: Alpha Bahamut
- Monster health: 600,000,000
- Damage cap for the first 24 hours: 4,000,000
- Damage cap from 24 to 48 hours: 8,000,000
- Damage cap from 48 to 72 hours: 12,000,000
- Damage cap from 72 to 96 hours: 16,000,000
- Damage cap from 96 to 120 hours: 20,000,000
- Damage cap after 120 - 148 hours: 24,000,000
- Damage cap after 148+ hours: Damage Cap removed, kill him!
- NO WEAPON SUMMONING FOR THE FIRST 120 HOURS!!
- DO NOT CRIPPLE!!
- NO CTAs
- Don't chain each other

I realize that MySpace isn't FB and this would be a work in progress and we would need to have some back up and maybe we need more CTA towards the end.

Opinions, people willing to participate, etc?

that is all good in theroy but the problem would be the monsters health do to players wanting to just attack and never heal so for it to work say on an alpha for the first 80 to 100 hours the big guns would need to do only heals so the little ones to do there damage and run away without ever healing

so to test it dont try with alphas we can start with regular bahamats and maybe red plains but i'd be game since it seems all i do is heal the big ones after the low's get involved Sad

Well, part of the hope is that keeping it private would reduce the number of taggers/non-healers/etc.

the higher lvl monsters are usually meant for the higher lvl players, i mean when ppl who just attack get in they bring down the party health and if there not strong enough or have alot of stam/energy thats y u dont get good items

While I agree, I'm just saying there are a lot of people who are strong enough to get good loot if these monsters last longer.

I like this.

I agree with Stuart that we should start with something a bit smaller. WoRPs are about half the health/activity of the Alphas.

You'll notice that generally Jack and Hitman join battles that are lower in time because they don't want it taking up one of their monster slots for 7 days. When they do join a fresher summon, they get that itchy trigger finger.

Personally, I would like to start seeing more siege weapons fired. Lack of siege weapons is a major reason there are so many failures and crisis battles. How do we educate the CA community about the importance of siege weapons?

I think these are two separate issues.

I just used Alpha B as an example as that is what we are currently fighting on FB and the 'rules' are already posted. I didn't have to come up with much. WoRP, Bahamut, Azreal, Alpha Meph are all monster where slow should be used. The reason for no deflecting/crippling/siege weapons is to allow more activity on our side. The hope is to maximize the amount of damage which maximizes the amount of epics/legendaries that are dropped.

On your other point, I've said that about MS CA since the beginning. There is no real easy answer. You do a hell of a job with the monster list and that is how I do a lot of my clicking.

DoR- ppl should set up a page to just launch siege weapons that way when u reach the max amount of attackers ppl cant still help launch weapons

I know that clerics/warriors get more activity for no deflecting/crippling, but players need to increase those classes for future battles. I have been trying to find fights (regular Bahamuts in particular) to join for just that purpose. Always seems I end up as a cleric though.

I just thought a WoRP would be a good place to start the training for this type of battle. And then we could progress to something bigger. If you'd like to start with a larger critter, I am next on the rotation for an Azriel/AM summons, and would not mind if it was a super-slow kill.

And, northhigh916, can you please explain your idea more.

People can still be Wizards/Rogues and even Deflect/Cripple assuming they don't actually fill the whole bar.

The only reason I am not as keen on WotRP is that we tired it with a speed kill and it went down very quickly because of how few hit points it actually had. We have subsequently redone it with a max of 30 people. With that many people (and no Deflect/Cripple), we had 25 people with 10k kills. We still defeated it with 75+ hours left.

We could run a couple of battles (and hide them from certain other enthusiastic slayers).

I know snow and her 10 accounts prefer slow kills (or as we like to call them in chat: "snow kills"). In fact if we had a couple of the alt-heavy players involved, we'd probably need two monsters.

I'm not opposed to Az or the Alphas. I was just thinking of using a WoRP to get our feet wet. A practice round. Master the plan. Figure out who wants to be in on the real one, etc.

And I agree about keeping it off the list. Especially if we don't want siege weapons and unhelpful help.

DoR- like u have a list of monster fights there should b a list of monsters that might fail where ppl can go and click to launch siege weapons to help them out b/c sometimes i find a cronus that has reached max amount of ppl but i can still help launch the next siege weapon. so i was sayin there should b a list where u can do that
